Written by Kunzang Choden, Fiction/Folktales
Folktales of Bhutan is a collection of thirty-eight folktales and legends. It is the first attempt by a Bhutanese to record in English, the oral tradition of our country. All of the stories recounted here were heard by the author when she was a child living in Bumthang, and they are the ones that she passes on to her children and grandchildren today, in the sprit of the oral tradition. This was also Kunzang Choden’s first published work (Published by White Lotus publishing house in Bangkok in 1994).
