Product Description

One of the first two products, Zhimtsi Ezay was introduced in 2000. This ezay originated from Lower Kheng (Nangla in Panbang) known as “Naambangala”), but has been modified to enhance its hot taste and durability. The main ingredient is perilla frutescens (zhimtsi in Dzongkha, beefsteak plant in English), other ingredients are chilli powder, onion, garlic, ginger, spring onion, coriander, Sichuan pepper, salt and oil. Zhimtsi is procured from various parts of Bhutan, including Chungkha (Gedu/Chukha), Nabji Korphu in Trongsa, Lhuntse, Tsirang, Pemagatshel and Panbang (Zhemgang) .
